Liverpool Ladies continued their impressive run in the Keele International Cup. Liverpool completed their group fixtures with a 3-0 win against Blackburn. Goals were scored by Lynda Shepherd, Jo Traynor and Gemma Watson. Liverpool topped their group with maximum points and were scheduled to play the runners up in group 2. Wolverhampton Wanderers finished runners up in group 1. Group 2 finished with 3 sides on six points. Everton, Curzon Ashton and The Irish Combined colleges. Everton had the superior goal difference, followed by Curzon Ashton.
In the semi-final Liverpool beat Curzon Ashton 2-0 with both goals coming from Kelly Jones. The other semi-final between Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers finished as a draw. Wolves won 2-1 on penalties with Fara Williams the only scorer of an Everton penalty.
The final was a repeat of Liverpool's opening game. Liverpool went one better than on the previous day winning 7-0. With Kelly Jones scoring 2, 'Fozzy' 2, Katy Williams 1, Katie Brusell 1 and Gemma Watson 1. Kelly had an impressive tournament scoring 9.
The reserves completed their group fixtures with a 9-0 win against Denton. Hattricks were scored by Amber Simms and Danni Gibson. Charlotte Roxburgh, Sophie Jones and Alisha Hardacre also scored. Liverpool reserves topped their group with maximum points. Liverpool Reserves played Liverpool Feds in their semi-final. This semi-final went to penalties. The opening 5 penalties were all scored by both teams. Then both sides missed 2 penalties each. The next penalty was scored by both teams but then Liverpool reserves missed and Liverpool Feds scored to go through 7-6 on penalties.
Liverpool Feds went on to win the final, also on penalties.
